The HPSP sporting
clays range is circular in shape and is one mile in circumference.
It is comprised of 75 acres that include 10 plus shooting stations.
The range was designed by the renowned engineering company, Clark
Vargas and Associates of Florida.
Ten new shooting
stations have recently been built by a HPSP volunteer. The goal of
the HPSP is to eventually have each station support the opportunity
to shoot from one of three choice positions to vary the shooting
windows, two of which come from twin traps on a 40 foot and 60 foot
tower, and two of which are shot while the shooter stands on an
elevated platform. In addition a wobble trap can be used except on
registered shoots.
Volunteers play
an important role at the HPSP. Not only are they busy making
shooting stations, one area farmer has planted a beautiful food
plot, another volunteer has planted over 130 trees and the entire
course and surrounding area has been seeded by Pheasants Forever and
volunteers. Often while shooting individuals will be observe quail,
pheasants, and deer which seem somewhat amused at all the activity. |
